Convention in Australia typically happened between Nov - Jan, depends on the state. We always seemed to attend Convention over Xmas (conveniently as Xmas was seen as worldly), so we never really celebrated Xmas in our family.
Oh of course, that makes sense! Seasons are flipped!
Well we didn’t celebrate Christmas at all - because it was a Worldy construct, with nothing to do with Jesus. Made for some awfully awkward days since my mum sure celebrated.
We did have Special Meeting in December, but it was generally mid-month, or actually maybe it was the Sunday before Xmas? Will have to think.

Some did celebrate Xmas, the level of celebrations varied. Some even unwrapped Xmas presents at convention if it fell over Xmas Day!
I can't even imagine!! Christmas was a hard stop on Canadian prairies. No celebarting - actually, the opposite of celebrating.
